’Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania × 100’ from 26 August-1 September in Helsinki
Working with the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Offices in Latvia and Lithuania and the Nordic Culture Point, we are organising a festival to celebrate the 100th anniversary of all three Baltic States. Finland and the Baltic States are situated in a unique location, at the meeting point of eastern and western culture. This creates strong tries between our countries, although our cultures and our world views nevertheless differ.
As part of the 100th anniversary of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania we will be bringing a large number of artists, scientists and cultural figures from all three Baltic States to Helsinki from 26 August-1 September. The programme will include poetry, films for both children and adults, theatrical performances and seminars. The festive week will close with a jazz concert at Temppeliaukio church.
